Large portrait of Gen. Douglas MacArthur, c. 1945
This portrait of General MacArthur originally hung in the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, D.C., and was later presented to the Macarthur's by New Jersey Congressman James C. Auchincloss in 1961. The painting shows MacArthur from just below the waist and up wearing a summer khaki uniform and a brown leather flight jacket; his right hand is in his trouser pocket; his left is gripping a pair of gloves.
